Media and Review Copies

Review copies

Review copies are available to journalists, editors, podcasters, booksellers, librarians, and reviewers, including ahead of publication. Digital review copies (EPUB or PDF) can usually be sent the same day. Print copies are supplied where the outlet and timing warrant it.

When you write to us, please include:

• Your name and the outlet, publication, podcast, or store
• The title you are requesting
• Whether you need a digital or print copy
• Your intended publication or air date, if you have one
• A mailing address, for print requests

Interviews and podcasts

Our authors are available for interviews, podcast appearances, panels, and background conversations on the subjects they write about. Tell us the format, the audience, the approximate length, and the dates you are working toward, and we will come back to you with availability.

Press materials

We can supply, on request:

• High-resolution cover art (front cover, and full jacket where applicable)
• Author photograph and approved author biography, short and long forms
• A one-page title sheet with description, specifications, and ISBNs
• Sample chapters or an excerpt cleared for publication
• The Hartzer Press logo and colophon in vector format

Cover art, author photographs, and the Hartzer Press colophon may be reproduced in connection with coverage, reviews, retail listings, and event promotion. They may not be altered, cropped so as to change their meaning, or used to imply endorsement of an unrelated product or service.

Quoting from a book

Brief quotation in a review or news report is fair use and needs no permission from us; please credit the author, the title, and Hartzer Press. Anything longer — an excerpt, a serialization, reproduction in a course pack or an anthology — needs written permission. See rights and permissions.

Speaking

Speaking requests connected to a Hartzer Press title are handled by the press. Consulting engagements and expert witness work are handled separately by Hartzer Consulting, LLC and should be directed there.

Response times

We answer media inquiries within two business days, and usually the same day. If you are working to a deadline, say so in the subject line and we will move it up.
